Paul BremerIn 2003, Paul Bremer, a retired State Department diplomat, was appointed by President Bush to be the adminstrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA). He spent a year in Iraq living in the heavily fortified former palace complex of Saddam Hussein. His time as the "Viceroy" ended on June 28, 2004. Bremer published a book about his time as the administor of the CPA entitled My Year in Iraq. He would retire once again and became a ski instructor in Vermont.
